Burn repair
Most burns seem to be made bye either a match head, or a dropped
cigarette. Both of these situations are repairable. The more charred
the wound the more difficult the repair. The burning generates a
puckering around the wound that’s a result of the heat shrinking the
leather.
If the leather is burnt all the way through than in order
to affect that repair the charred area needs to be cut away. With
the charred area cut away the “puckering” is relieved.
When the
“puckering” around the wound is allowed to relax what you thought
was a hole the size of an eraser head turns in to a hole the size of
a quarter.
It was ALWAYS the size of a quarter, but the “puckering”
just made it look smaller. This wound can still be repaired, it just
looks larger and now it’s ready to be repaired.
